Debt Ceiling Trickery ( Or, How To Vote Without Voting )
Tuesday, January 10th, 2012As I understand it, along with the debt ceiling increase congress voted on several months ago, legislation was also passed allowing for an automatic increase in the debt ceiling after an additional six months have passed, unless congress specifically votes to nullify the increase.
So, congress essentially gave itself a pass, a “Who, me?” moment, allowing for additional spending, additional debt, without all of the discussions and public awareness that accompanied the previous debt ceiling increase.
How convenient for them.
There are no fiscal conservatives in congress anymore, there just aren’t.
